North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) organized a grand farewell programme for the outgoing batches of Master of Social Work (2023–2025) and Bachelor of Social Work (2022–2025) on the 2nd of May, 2025, at the Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall, Peace Centre, NEISSR under the theme “Glitz and Glam Gala.”
The programme was graced by Dr. Y. Hukheli Zhimomi, Assistant Headmistress, Government High School, Toluvi, as the Special Guest. In her heartfelt message, Dr. Zhimomi expressed her deep admiration for the culture of NEISSR and the strength, values, and potential of its students. She reminded the outgoing trainees that the world needs changemakers—individuals who are bold, kind, and rooted in strong values. Urging the need to train more professional social workers to transform Nagaland, she encouraged the students to be willing to serve their communities with humility, to give of themselves in service to society, and to find true fulfillment in losing oneself for the sake of others.
In a deeply inspiring address, Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto, Principal of NEISSR, emphasized the call to holiness as a cornerstone of professional and personal life. He congratulated the students for completing not just an academic journey but for shaping and enriching the institution through their presence and contributions. He highlighted their academic excellence, commitment to fieldwork, leadership, mentorship, peer support, and spiritual involvement. As they step into new chapters, Dr. Fr. Anto urged them to carry forward not just a degree, but holiness, compassion, resilience, insight, and a strong dedication to building peace and nurturing a society filled with professionally trained social workers and peace builders.
Messages were also shared by Dr. Toli H. Kiba and Mr. Vizosu Kikhi, Assistant Professors at NEISSR. Dr. Toli reminded the students that social work extends beyond textbooks into a life lived with compassion, justice, and humility. Mr. Vizosu encouraged the trainees to be the torchbearers of peace and social transformation and to step out not merely as job seekers but as nation builders, seeking not only success but to be significant.
Representatives from the outgoing batches of MSW Mr. Joyba C Sangtam and BSW Ms. Souvane shared their reflections and gratitude. Special song was performed by Ms. Opangkokla Aier.
