The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chumoukedima, Nagaland, in collaboration with the Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI), organized a program to commemorate International Women’s Day on March 8, 2025. The event took place at 2:00 pm at Bishop Abraham Hall, NEISSR.
The program was moderated by Mr. Alongba from MSW 2nd Semester, who led the male participants in warmly greeting the females. The program commenced with an invocation by Mr. W Longting Phom from MSW 4th Semester, followed by a greeting message from Mr. Barnic, Assistant Professor. Mr. Barnic emphasized the significance of International Women’s Day, highlighting the beauty and struggles of women.
A token of appreciation was presented to all female faculties, Peace Channel staff, and students of NEISSR. Miss Toli H Kiba, Assistant Professor, NEISSR, delivered a thematic talk, focusing on the theme “Rights, Equality, and Empowerment.” She discussed the history of the feminist movement, emphasizing the importance of achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5 and 10. As social workers, she stressed the need to combat discrimination and create an equitable society.
The program concluded with a special song by Mr. Joyba C Sangtam and Mr. Avise Sangtam of MSW 4th Semester, followed by a vote of thanks from Mr. Barnabas of MSW 4th Semester.
