NEISSR launched Clean India Campaign

Cleanliness begins with self-responsibility and the desire to be clean

North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) launched an inaugural programme of Clean India Campaign organized by the IQAC Cell, NEISSR in collaboration with National Service Scheme (NSS), NEISSR with a Motto: Not Me but You at Peace Centre, Chumoukedima on 3rd October, 2022. Fr. Sajan Joseph, Director of Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) was the chief guest for the event.
Dr. Fr. C.P Anto Principal of NEISSR and Director of Peace Channel in his welcome note emphasized on the importance of NSS and the core purpose to deliberate young boys and girls to rejuvenate their minds and to help the community needs at large. He encouraged the students by stating that one should not just be a kick starter but an active participant and agent in the society. He further added that as professional social workers we should be the master to heal and touch the life of the people with love and dignity.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief guest Fr.Sajan Joseph, Director of Development Association of Nagaland, mentioned that being a part of NSS, every individual is entering into the new era of service with new responsibilities. He highlighted that clean India, is not a one day activity but it is something we need to inculcate in our everyday lives. He stressed on the importance of cleanliness by stating that cleanliness is the most important component in everyone’s life, one should not depend on others for cleanliness as it is our own responsibility to act when there is a need. Cleanliness and personal hygiene should start from us and from our own home. Every individual should have an equal responsibility to make our society and country a better place to live in clean and healthy environment. He concluded with a quote given by Mahatma Gandhi, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Miss Juli Zhimomi, MSW 1st semester and an invocatory prayer by Miss Savirhu Domeh, BSW 1st Semester.
Later, the programme ended with a vote of thanks by Miss. Irangsa Cerai, President Student Council, NEISSR followed by planting of saplings, beautification and cleanliness drive in the Institute campus.
