NEISSR Anthem Competition

NEISSR: “PEACE AND PROGRESS THROUGH MUSIC”

North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chumukedima conducted NEISSR Anthem Competition. This is the first of its kind with innovative and collaborative realities. The programme was organized by the Music Club in collaboration with Students Council for Social Change. Mr. Kossam Konyak chaired the programme. Ms. Rovikhono Pucho invoked God’s blessings. Mr. Pezangulie Suokhrie delivered welcome and key note address. He emphasized the power of music in everyone’s life. Peace can be promoted in and around us by means of music. He further added that the power of music lies in its ability to change and make people feel certain to connect and bring us together. Earlier, Sir Stephen Gangmei briefed the importance of the day to all the participants Clubs. 7 Clubs took the stage, namely Music Club, Art and Literary Club, Blood Donors Club, Cultural Club, Disaster Management Club, Media Club, and Social Club. Fr. Khing, Dr. Abel Ariana, and Dr. Lily Sangpui judged the performance of the day. Music Club took the first place followed by Cultural Club and Art and Literary Club.

Dr. Fr. C.P Anto, Principal, NEISSR appreciated all the participants towards greater heights in music. He encouraged the students by citing numerous talented individuals in the world of music. He specified Nagaland as a State with beautiful voices across the hills and rivers. He strongly emphasized the need to promote folk song among young students. The programme ended with a note of thanks from Mr Daiguang. Ms Tsulula K. proposed the vote of thanks.
